Forex perps: the majors, traded like a crypto perp

FX is the deepest market in the world and the hardest for a crypto-native trader to reach: brokers, platforms and account tiers stand between you and a EUR/USD position. A forex perpetual removes all of that. As of August 2026 the catalog covers nine pairs including EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY, AUD/USD, NZD/USD, USD/CAD, USD/CHF and USD/MXN.

Why trade FX as a perp

The mechanics are the ones you already know from crypto: USDC margin, leverage, a funding rate, and one ticket to go long or short. No MT4 or MT5 install, no broker onboarding, no weekend withdrawal windows on your collateral, which stays in your own wallet.

The pairs

Coverage concentrates on the majors, where oracle liquidity is deepest.

  • EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY, USD/CHF
  • Commodity currencies: AUD/USD, NZD/USD, USD/CAD
  • One EM pair: USD/MXN

FX hours, not crypto hours

FX trades nearly around the clock during the week but closes on weekends: the session runs from Sunday 17:00 New York time to Friday 17:00. Unlike crypto, these markets keep exchange hours. The app shows a closed state outside them and blocks new orders until the market reopens, so a ticket never dies on-chain against a closed book.

Position sizing with leverage

FX moves are small in percentage terms, which is why traditional FX trading is levered. The perp model is the same: post USDC margin, choose leverage, and the position size is margin times leverage. Liquidation works exactly as it does on a crypto perp, so size with the same discipline.

Questions

Is this the same as trading with an FX broker?
The exposure is similar, the plumbing is not. There is no broker: your USDC margin sits in a self-custodial wallet, the position lives on-chain at Ostium on Arbitrum, and settlement is in USDC rather than in the quote currency.
When are forex perps closed?
On weekends. The FX session runs Sunday evening to Friday evening New York time. The app shows the market as closed outside the session and blocks new orders until it reopens.
Which pairs are available?
Nine pairs as of August 2026: EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY, USD/CHF, AUD/USD, NZD/USD, USD/CAD and USD/MXN among them. Listings can change; the live list in the app is authoritative.
Can I hold a position over the weekend?
Existing positions persist while the market is closed; you just cannot open or modify orders against a closed book. Mind funding and the gap risk at the Sunday reopen, which is a real feature of FX.
